Key activities

Hom Nath Acharya has been recently transferred to this new post at NEWAH HQ, considering his strong background in training. His role entails providing training and advisory service for capacity development of CBO/NGO/local level government working in WATSAN sector. As this is a newly established division the initial task will involve development of capacity building policy and guidelines, Training Need Assessment (TNA) tools, designing various training modules on the basis of the TNA and preparing necessary training materials. Designing, managing and if need be also facilitating tailor made need-based trainings and providing advisory services and technical assistance around planning, implementation, operation & maintenance aspects of water, health and sanitation projects also fall under his responsibilities.

Background

Hom Nath has a bachelor's degree in Management from Tribhuvan University, Thakur Ram Multiple Campus, Birgunj and is studying Master in Business Studies from Tribhuvan University, Kailali multiple campus.

Acharya who has been with NEWAH since 1993 was the Regional Manager of NEWAH Far Western Regional Office previous to the present assignment and his expertise include planning and management of programmes and facilitation of community and middle level WASH sector management trainings especially to users group, community, staff and partner NGOs. Trainings and experience gained in WATSAN field mainly include community mobilization and management, saving and credit group promotion, gender and social inclusion, capacity building, report writing, planning, budgeting, project management, leadership, communication skill participatory monitoring & evaluation and conflict management.
