Key activities
Santosh Basnet who heads the Technical Division of NEWAH, is responsible and manages the formulation of technical policy, operational guidelines and directs technical standards for NEWAH supported water and sanitation schemes. He facilitates the team of technical officers to ensure the standard quality and quantities of structures and construction materials as per specification and estimation for the water and sanitation (household and school latrines).
Coordinates and provides trainings to the moving and field level staff of NEWAH and partners on water quality issues, water quality testing, technological innovations and sharing of information. He represents NEWAH in the sector coordination (national ARSENIC steering committee) particularly in terms of technical matters related to water and sanitation.
Background
Pursuing a Masters in Natural Resource Management from Pokhara University he also has a Masters in Sociology and Bachelors in civil Engineering from The Society of Engineers UK. He has been with NEWAH since 1993.
